Growing and Glowing in Christ

When I was a younger lad I shopped at a clothing store called “Clothes Time”. Believe you me, I absolutely LOVED loved this store! You’ve probably never heard of Clothes Time But, my shopping experiences there meant far more to me than the subsequent shopping experiences that I would go on to have at over-priced, idolized stores. [Side Note: I didn’t enjoy shopping then/until the Holy Spirit taught me how to do so wisely. It’s fun now.] Anywho, be that as it may, one of the many reasons that I enjoyed my shopping experiences at Clothes Time is because I fully embraced, appreciated, and would go on to adopt their slogan as a favorite saying/concept. Their slogan was, “It’s not how you look; it’s how you feel!” What I thought I knew then and am absolutely certain of now is that how one feels in the skin that they are in is FAR MORE IMPORTANT than one’s physical appearance. How we feel is spiritual. How we look (or appear) is carnal. The spiritual WILL ALWAYS trump/outweigh the carnal!

“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18

So, how does one obtain that indescribable feeling of liberty, confidence, love and joy that almost every model (at some point in their “career”) attempts to feel/possess? How does one enter a room like a cool breeze (John 3:8) on a hot summers day or exit a space full of mayhem, gliding gracefully (Proverbs 11:16) past the darkness like a shooting star shining (Philippians 2:15) through the cold winter night? By His Spirit, thus says the Lord!

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6

“The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” John 3:8

“A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.” Proverbs 11:16

“That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;” Philippians 2:15

We must simply (1) obey God, (2) be born of His Spirit which is to be baptized with the Holy Ghost, (3) bare His fruit and (4) dwell in GOD!

(1) OBEY GOD!

“And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.” Acts 5:32

(2) BE BORN OF HIS SPIRIT WHICH IS TO BE BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY GHOST!

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” John 3:3-8

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Matthew 3:11-12

“John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.” Luke 3:16-17

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Acts 2:38

(3) BARE HIS FRUIT!

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

(4) DWELL IN GOD!

“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:16-18

“And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.” John 1:33

We, the children of GOD, are ordained to be conformed to the image of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! And, absolutely NO ONE in Heaven or on Earth shines like He does! Hallelujah! And as He is, beautiful and brilliant, so shall we (His bride) be!

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” Romans 8:28-30

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

Amen?

AMEN! =)
