You’re heard. In fact, your words are not only heard; there’s a record of each and every one of them. And, it’s not just your words, either. Similar to our words being heard, our every thought and every feeling is known, as well.
“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” Proverbs 15:3
I shouldn’t stop speaking, writing, teaching, singing (allowing myself to be used by God) because I feel that no one is listening. I shouldn’t, nor should you. We should, instead, take comfort in knowing that every word that we utter/type, along with every thought and feeling, is always and inevitably being heard by the loving ears of Almighty God!
From our lips to God’s ears…
“And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;” Acts 15:8
“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.” Proverbs 21:2
“I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:10
“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” Hebrews 4:12-13
I’ve always believed that God had a call upon my life. I remember being a small girl walking the streets in my neighborhood, thinking to myself “GOD has a BIG JOB for me!”. But, as of late, after 41 years of wear and tear; I’d begun to doubt. The devils who masquerade as people (see John 6:70) had seemingly worn me thin.
“Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?” John 6:70
BUT, THEN THE LORD (so grateful for “but then the Lord”! Hallelujah!) reminded me by His precious Spirit within me that even my most feeble attempts to answer His call upon my life were in fact and indeed eternally and profoundly important! My every word, effort, attempt, thought, feeling, belief, hope in the right direction… is being/has been/will be seen, heard and felt by the sovereign Lord of all! No godly deed is ever in vain! No honest attempt to serve the Lord goes unnoticed! GOD IS WATCHING AND LISTENING! Every soul that He created combined doesn’t begin to compare to the Lord Jesus Christ! Having His ear is all that matters! He is worthy of unfailing servitude! He is present with us, enabling us to carry-out the same! He is the rewarder of men! He will bless us for our efforts! He is taking note! He is actively listening! His heart rejoices in our godly words! His agreement, or concurrence, is the only one “Amen!” that we need!
“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10
“But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.” 1 Thessalonians 2:4
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
Furthermore, when we minister to those who belong to Christ Jesus we minister to Christ Jesus Himself indeed. It is He who is within the listener who enables the listener to hear and understand. When it’s all said and done when we minister to Christ’s we are ministering to Christ. His ears should always be our hearts’ and minds’ primary concern.
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7
“But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear” Matthew 13:16
“He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.” John 8:47
“If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the Spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.” 1 Peter 4:14
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:7-9
“Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:
Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.” Colossians 1:24-29
“But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:” 2 Chronicles 13:10
“And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.” 1 Corinthians 7:35
So, those of us who wonder about our impact and at times feel a bit discouraged can be comforted and rest assured, knowing that the Lord’s ears are open to us, that the purity of our hearts has immeasurable/eternal value, the Spirit id for us and is interceding on our behalves and our labour for the Lord is not in vain!
From our lips to God’s ears!
“The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.” Proverbs 15:29
“And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:27
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
